DUBAI 22 January 2019 — To renew its commitment of active engagement with these schools and with the overseas Filipino youth, the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai met with representatives of the Philippine Schools Overseas based in Dubai and the Northern Emirates on 08 January 2019.
Among the action points discussed included proposals for specific activities for 2019, the continuation of programs from previous years, new initiatives in collaboration with other Filipino professionals in Dubai, and prospects for further training of Filipino teachers.
The Consulate General’s interactions and collaboration with these schools fall under its Rizal Forum network, which includes participation of Filipino students in various Consulate-led activities.
The Consulate General always had strong and frequent engagements with the schools and Filipino youth, believing that a stronger awareness of Filipino culture among young overseas Filipinos is crucial to spreading and promoting Filipino heritage not only to second generation Filipinos but more so to other ethnicities and nationalities as well.
