Duty Free Philippines to open first biggest luxe store

DUTY FREE PHILIPPINES CORPORATION (DFPC), the sole government agency that has exclusive franchise to operate duty and tax free shops, is set to open two largest shopping outlets next month — the DFP Luxe Store and the NAIA Terminal 3 Landside Store.

“We are delighted to announce our two biggest DFPC shopping destinations for our tourists and balikbayans in the country. Our initiative is driven by the Department of Tourism’s commitment to promote the Philippines as a premiere tourist destination,” DFPC Chief Operating Officer Vico A. Angala said.

The Duty Free Philippines Luxe store will be the first ultra-luxurious travel retail destination in the country that will provide guests with a very discriminating and sophisticated duty free shopping experience. This 4,200 sqm multi-level facility is located in the heart of the shopping and entertainment district of Manila and within the tourist center of SM Mall of Asia complex.

Angala said the Luxe Store’s boutiques and shops will carry a wide selection of high end imported goods and retail mix that will capture brands across all spectrums—from luxury designer labels like Bally and Ferragamo to mid-priced fashion labels like Coach and Michael Kors.

“This new upscale shopping environment will set a standard for the affluent market especially in South East Asian countries,” he added.

Meanwhile, the NAIA Terminal 3 Landside Store, strategically located at the arrival lobby of the airport, will cater to a diverse mix of international passengers by offering a powerful line up of duty free staples, such as premium chocolates, perfumes, liquor, tobacco and other grocery items whose prices are guaranteed to be lower than market prices in Manila.

“DFPC has carved a unique niche in the travel retail industry.  Despite the increasing market of other retailers and online shopping, DFPC maintains to augment market revenues, expand its reach to consumers to support the Philippine economic growth,” said Angala.
