Mary May Portez was born and raised in Manila. She graduated from Miriam College with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Arts and has been working in the media industry ever since. A former Managing Editor of Balikbayan magazine, she now act as its Independent Editorial Consultant. She currently resides in Perth, pursuing her Masters Degree at UWA.
