ILO launches Music Against Child Labour Competition

The International Labour Organization through the global Music Against Child Labor Initiative recently launched the Music Against Child Labour Competition to mark the 2021 International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour. The competition aims to raise awareness on the issue of child labour and empower children – including children formerly in child labour – through music.

The competition is open to all musicians, both amateur and professional, of any age. The deadline for submission of entries is on 12 April 2021. Winners will be selected based on musical quality, relevance of the message, song originality, and the inclusion of a call to action. They will receive a cash prize, professional music-video recording of their song, and will be given opportunity for their song to be streamed at the global World Day Against Child Labour event in June 2021.

Publicity materials for the Competition such as launch video, posters, and infographics are shared on the social media accounts of Batang Malaya PH, Music Against Child Labour, and International Labour Organization. More information about the Competition and how to participate are also explained in the attached booklet which can also be accessed through this website: www.musicagainstchildlabour.com.
