The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa joined Filipinos around the world last December 7, 2019 in observing the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women which annually runs from November 25 to December 12.

In cooperation with the Philippine Commission on Women, the Embassy mounted the official Campaign Icon in its Consular area and distributed information materials on relevant Philippine laws and government programs to assist women and children affected by violence.

Embassy personnel also wore the 2019 Campaign Advocacy Shirt during its Saturday consular service for the month of December to raise awareness on the campaign and encourage the public’s continued vigilance and support in protecting women’s rights.
