Filipinos in Australia’s capital city join worldwide celebration of Sinulog Festival

Canberra — Philippine Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega joined the Philippine Cultural Society as it led the celebration of the Annual Feast of Seňor Santo Niňo in Australia’s Capital City on January 19, 2020. A mass in honor of this festival was celebrated at St. Monica’s Church in Evatt, followed by a cultural program in Hall Pavilion.

In her remarks, Ambassador De La Vega acknowledged that the start of the year has brought many challenges to the Philippines and Australia and expressed appreciation for the generosity of the Filipino community in assisting those in need.

Filipinos in Australia join the rest of our kababayans all over the world in celebrating the Sinulog festival which has historically been a strong devotion and tradition in the Philippines.
