Secretary Andanar: Youth camps to be part of legacy info drive to inspire youth participation in nation-building

Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, Jan. 24 — The Presidential Communications Operations Office is including youth-oriented activities as part its nationwide rollout of the Duterte Legacy communications campaign, said PCOO chief Secretary Martin Andanar on Wednesday.

“We will be conducting leadership camps for the youths, to instil leadership values and discipline in them,” he said during PCOO’s Youth for Truth Program.

Acknowledging the sector’s role in nation-building, the PCOO chief expressed hope that such activities will increase the youth’s participation in their respective communities.

“Everybody’s participation, including yours, is important in nation-building,” he said as he spoke before a group of youth leaders.

“We look forward that this will continue to inspire them to take part in creating more informed and empowered communities,” he added.

According to Secretary Andanar, the agency’s campaign team have initially made plans to conduct youth leadership camps in key cities and provinces across the country.

This part of the caravan aims to bring together various youth leaders and provide them with training on media and information literacy, communication and leadership, and likewise promote gender equality.
