Philippine Embassy in Doha showcases Pinoy Culture at International Association of Athletics Federations World Athletics Championship

Doha, Qatar —  The Philippine Embassy in Doha participated in the side events of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Athletics Championship which was held at Qatar’s Khalifa International Stadium from September 27, to October 6, 2019.

The Embassy showcased Philippine cultural heritage through booth display and cultural performances during the 10-day event. The Embassy tapped a local group of Filipino talents, the Tanghalang Overseas Pinoy, Inc. (TOPI), to perform at the “Fun Zone” located within the premises of the Khalifa International Stadium.

The Embassy’s participation in the side events of the IAAF World Athletics Championship was a show of the Philippines’ solidarity with Qatar as the host country of the prestigious biennial sporting event. It was coordinated with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the state organizer of the third largest sporting event in the world.
