Filipino students win medals at the 16th International Math and Science Olympiad

Hanoi, Vietnam —  A total of 13 out of 14 Filipino students garnered six silver and seven bronze medals in the 16th International Math and Science Olympiad held here on 26-30 November 2019.

In the Science category, Bernice Marie L. Buaquena and Reuben R. Felix bagged silver medals while Anika Gayle C. Tan, Justin Aaron S. Co, Catherine Ann S. Panelo, Edley Stan Tan Cheng, Ron Matheus Dinos, Ileina L. Jacob, and Dana Francesca Abgelina got bronze medals.

In the Math category Ian Gabriel T. Hong, Sophie Jill D. Co, Iris Lexi Ababon, and Sean Y. Jang won silver medals.

The event, which is an international contest in Math and Science for primary school students under 13 years old, is annually hosted by different countries.

More than 700 students from 24 countries competed in this year’s Olympiad.
