WeTAP Elects New Leadership to Champion Wellness as a Pillar of Nation-Building

SILANG, Cavite — March 3, 2026 — The Wellness Tourism Association of the Philippines (WeTAP) is proud to announce the election of its new board of officers, led by incoming President Vikki Aquino. The induction ceremony, held during the WeTAP General Membership Meeting (GMM) at the Whitewoods Convention Center and led by Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Marites Castro, marks a strategic shift to position the Filipino wellness industry as a primary driver for nation-building and economic resilience.

“Wellness is the silent heartbeat of nation-building,” said President Vikki Aquino. “Our vision is to project the Filipino Brand of Wellness onto the global stage, transforming our heritage of rituals and healing into the human infrastructure and sustainable livelihoods that fuel a thriving, resilient nation.”

 

The 2026 leadership team is tasked with professionalizing the industry and aligning wellness initiatives with national development priorities. Outgoing President Cathy Turvill will continue to serve the association as Founding President and Advisor.

Meet the New President:

 

Vikki Aquino is a distinguished leader in the hospitality and wellness sectors, currently serving as the Executive Director for Wellness and Leisure at Okada Manila. With over three decades of local and international expertise, she has held influential roles such as Director for Membership for the Asia Pacific Spa & Wellness Coalition (APSWC) and is a prominent Global Wellness Day Ambassador for the Philippines.
