(From left to right) Steadfast CON donors Loy Seisa and Dr. Ann Seisa, University President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, Nursing Dean Prof. Melba C. Sale, and CCINAA President Atty. Salex E. Alibogha pose for a photo just moments after the ceremonial unveiling of the architectural renderings of the ₱10M Learning Commons at the Loreto D. Tupaz Hall.

Through a memorandum signing and symbolic laying of markers ceremony on February 12, steadfast benefactors Dr. Annecita “Ann” Catedrilla Seisa and Loy Seisa formalized their donation of a ₱10 million Learning Space/Commons at the Loreto D. Tupaz Hall for the College of Nursing (CON), as a “gift of empowerment” for its students.

Upon the official unveiling of the facility’s architectural renderings, the learning space will include a lounge area, discussion rooms, and a coffee station, with the availability of SMART TVs and digital learning platforms that, according to Dr. Seisa, will allow students to “engage in clinical virtual discussions, practice simulations in digital environments, and connect seamlessly with ongoing clinical processes even during their free time.”

“This moment is not simply about constructing a facility; it is about realizing a vision, fulfilling a promise, and laying the foundation for the future of nursing education at Central Philippine University,” emphasized Dr. Seisa, further underscoring the commons as an environment that offers both comfort and technological innovation that will enhance learning, promote collaborative efforts, and increase creativity among its students.

Moreover, the ceremony was attended by University President Rev. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy; Nursing Dean Prof. Melba Sale; President of the Central Philippine University, Capiz Emmanuel Hospital, and Iloilo Mission Hospital Nurses’ Alumni Association (CCINAA) Atty. Salex E. Alibogha; and project contractor IJOJPA Construction, who delivered messages of gratitude, support, and promise as key actors of the collaboration.

The primary attendees of the event were nursing faculty, staff, and students of Class 2028, for whom Dr. Seisa also pledged support by fully funding their review expenses in preparation for their board exams.

CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy (in blue on the left) leads the Nursing community in prayer over the official markers of the Dr. Ann Catedrilla Seisa and Loy Seisa Learning Space/Commons at the third floor of the Loreto D. Tupaz Hall.

“You are living proof that when we ask God for something, it will come in the most unexpected and beautiful way. An answered prayer in disguise. We are grateful that you saw potential in us, that you deemed us worthy of your generosity…And we promise to pay it forward, to contribute to the nursing field and to be globally competent nurses. We will make sure that every centavo spent for our future will be worth it,” expressed Assistant Level Representative Ronan Geo Bacanan in his response on behalf of Batch Luminara, further calling Dr. Seisa their “very own light, our very own Luminara”.

The Dr. Ann Catedrilla Seisa and Loy Seisa Learning Space/Commons is only one of the numerous donations made by the Seisa family in support of CPU-CON. As a Centralian nurse herself who spent her formative years in the institution, Dr. Seisa shared with The Centralian Link that it is her responsibility to “give back, to realize the mission and vision of this great university—to benefit the future students in the next generations of Centralians.”
