Honolulu – Marigold Manufacturing Corporation, one of the largest food corporations in the Philippines and manufacturer of Mama Sita’s products, will be working with the University of Hawaii (UH) – Center for Philippine Studies (CPS) in promoting Philippine culinary heritage.

Mama Sita’s President Clara Reyes-Lapus met with CPS Director Dr. Pia Arboleda on 10 October 2019 at UH-Manoa together with Vice Consul and Economic Officer Andrea Christina Caymo to discuss their company’s plan to send a guest lecturer to UH next year to teach classes on Filipino cuisine and culinary heritage.

During her visit to Hawaii, Reyes-Lapus also promoted their siling labuyo (chili sauce) product during a television appearance on KITV-4’s Good Morning Hawaii. The chilis used to produce the sauce helps provide livelihood in agricultural areas in the Southern Philippines.
