Michelin Listed Manila Marriott Hotel’s Director of Culinary Meik Brammer (left) hands over the “Gawad Kutsilyo ng Sinagtala para sa Punong Tagapagluto” or “Sinagtala Chef’s Knife” to two-time Michelin Bib Gourmand Tausug Chef Miguel Morenoas an expression of gratitude of Manila Marriott to Chef Moreno’s unwavering support to the Sinagtala Philippine Culinary Arts Program. The ceremony took place during the launch of Sinagtala Famsgiving Buffet Dinner at Marriott Café, a kitchen takeover featuring Chef Moreno where the Southern Mindanaoan or ZamBaSulTa cuisine will have a dedicated section in the buffet in celebration of the Filipino Food Month in April. The Sinagtala Famsgiving Buffet Dinner will be available every Wednesday and Thursday of the month.

Metro Manila – Micheline-listed Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts further the implementation of the Marriott International Sinagtala Philippine Culinary Arts Program or Sinagtala Program with a kitchen takeover at Marriott Café featuring the multi-awarded Tausug Chef Miggy Moreno dubbed, “Sinagtala Famsgiving Buffet Dinner” all Wednesdays and Thursdays of April. Moreno owns and operates two 2026 Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants: Palm Grill and Cabel. Cementing the commitment to bring to the fore the Filipino Culinary Arts, Manila Marriott this time showcases the Southern Mindanaoan cuisine, also known as the ZamBaSulTa (Zamboanga, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi) cuisine. A section of the buffet spread will be dedicated for this regional gastronomy, in celebration of the “Filipino Food Month”. The name “Sinagtala Famsgiving” refers to a gathering celebrated with family or a “chosen family” over heirloom dishes that harness wonderful memories, and rich culture and heritage. The Sinagtala Famsgiving Buffet Dinner is priced at P3,399 net per person.

Included in the buffet spread are authentic Tausug staples: Tiyula Itum (black beef soup), Tinuanan (fresh pomelo and mango salad with Tausug dressing), Beef Kurma (beef curry), Sambal Istah (deep-fried maya-maya topped with special sauce), Belachan Manuk, Kyuning / Bubuk (grilled chicken breast marinated in turmeric, lemon zest and spices) and Bang Bang Sug (assortment of Tausug native cakes and pastries).

The media launch was held last 19 March 2026 at the award-winning Marriott Café attended by media and bigwigs from other countries, Manila Marriott Hotel, Marriott International – Philippines, and the Department of Tourism.

Grateful to this significant partnership with Manila Marriott Hotel, Moreno utters, “Collaborations that reaches global audiences matter in elevating Philippine regional gastronomy”. Manila Marriott Hotel Director of Culinary Meik Brammer on the other hand expresses the joy of having found a collaborator with Michelin Tausug Chef Miggy Moreno who shares the same advocacy and commitment to elevate and bring the Filipino cuisine to the global culinary stage. “It is a pleasure and honor to find an organization or individual who shares the same vision for a program like Sinagtala” said Brammer. “If Filipinos and Filipinos-at-heart will come together to create platforms that will showcase the rich Filipino culinary arts and heritage, there is no doubt that it will eventually gain its rightful place in the world where it can be appreciated and celebrated,” Brammer added.

The partnership is also a timely initiative as Manila Marriott Hotel gears up towards securing its HALAL certification to enable it to strengthen its drive for inclusivity, and be able to cater to local and foreign Muslim guests.
