PH Consulate General in Toronto Conducts Pre-Departure Briefing for Winter Escapade 6 Participants

TORONTO 28 January 2019 – The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto held a Pre-Departure Orientation briefing for Winter Escapade 6 (WE6) Toronto participants at the Sentro Rizal Toronto on 11 January 2019.

Deputy Consul General Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez welcomed and thanked the attendees for their support for the Winter Escapade program. This year, there are 59 Toronto-registered participants, comprising of both Winter Escapade first-timers and repeaters, from the City of Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Windsor, Regina, Winnipeg, the United States, and the Philippines.

The first-time participants, most of whom have not visited the Philippines for more than 20 years, expressed their anticipation for the tour and are looking forward to an enjoyable and meaningful visit to their homeland.  On the other hand, the repeaters, most of whom are married couples, shared their wonderful WE experience and made the others more excited with the tour.

Philippine Airlines-Toronto Area Manager Ms. Monet Trespeses, who was invited to the briefing, was given a chance to thank those who patronized the Philippine flag carrier for their international flight to and from Manila, as well as speak about their current promotions and encourage the others to fly the Philippine Airlines.

After the briefing, the attendees were treated to a sampler of Batangas dishes and delicacies such as pancit lomi, toasted siopaoespasolsuman lihiya and kutsinta.

WE6 is scheduled from 28 January to 04 February 2019 and will feature exciting destinations in Manila, Taal in Batangas, and El Nido in Palawan.
