The two-day Olympiad, organized by the City University of Hong Kong-College of Business, the Hong Kong Science Park, and the Hong Kong Blockchain Society, is a multidisciplinary design and building competition wherein students from all over the world solve real-world challenges with private, secure, and decentralized applications. Their aim is to promote the value of blockchain as a more important technology than bitcoin or cryptocurrencies.

This is IBCOL’s second year of holding the competition. The sole team from the Philippines bested 30 other teams from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada, Mainland China, United States and Estonia.
