Globe hosts 12th Singtel Group Regional CTO-CIO Forum

Gil Genio, Chief Technology and Information Officer of Globe, talks about digitalization

CEBU, Philippines — Continuing its decade-long commitment to strengthen the relationship among Information and Communications Technology (ICT) leaders across Asia, Singtel once again brought together some of the most influential experts and decision makers in ICT with Globe Telecom as host of this year’s powerhouse event.

The two-day event focused on digitalization, 5G and IoT. Delegates shared insightful strategy and practices in transforming their network/IT infrastructure as well as talked about innovative services to remain competitive. Extensive discussion was spent on collaboration opportunities and value creation as a group.

“CTOs and CIOs see modernization as a continuous cycle, and not just a one-off project. We are perpetually challenged to grow revenues, build better network connectivity and more advanced infrastructure, improve reach and margins, deliver surprising value, experiences and convenience to customers,  and embrace digital technologies across the enterprise value chain to name a few. Finding time to effectively connect with other ICT leaders in the region allows us to address current and future ICT challenges together, and share insights on how we can best serve our stakeholders,” said Gil Genio, Chief Technology and Information Officer of Globe.

Globe is currently promoting digital transformation in the Philippines to allow the country to catch up with the rest of the region in terms of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) adoption. It recently announced the plans of making 5G Globe At Home service to be commercially available by the second quarter of 2019 for higher speeds, lower latency, and better capacity.  The company also continues to look for more synergies and innovative solutions to make the goal a reality.

The Singtel Group is Asia’s leading communications group serving over 700 million mobile customers around world. Its strong alliance with Globe Telecom helps leverage the strengths of each other in developing and launching various innovative enterprise solutions for its customers.
