  • The Philippines returns to Japan for the International Furniture Fair Tokyo (IFFT) / Interior Lifestyle Living.
  • IFFT / Interior Lifestyle Living is the leading trade fair for the Japanese high-end interior market.

Lifestyle Philippines returns to Interior Furniture Fair Tokyo (IFFT) / Interior Lifestyle Living 2018 with new collections that merge tradition, natural raw materials and local craftsmanship with international contemporary design. The participation is led by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export promotion arm of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

IFFT / Interior Lifestyle Living, slated on 14-16 November in Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan, is the leading trade fair for the Japanese high-end interior market that showcases the finest international products originating from the different regions of Japan to almost every part of the world.

Overseeing the participation is Japanese Industrial Designer Kohei Takata, who previously produced exhibitions under the “sozo_comm” projects such as Ambiente (2008), Milano Salone (2009) and Maison et Objet (2010). Takata is helping the local companies participating in IFFT to develop more sustainable products tailor fit for the Japanese market.

They will represent the country and bring the Philippines best functional furniture, home décor and gardening items under CITEM’s industry brand dubbed as Lifestyle Philippines. The participating companies are Southeast Metro Arts; South Sea Veneer Corporation; Vivere Lifestyles Co. Inc.; Albero; Prado Filipino Artisans, Inc.; Contemporaneo Design Enterprise; Johansen World Group Corp.; Natural Craft Connection Enterprise; Azcor Lighting; Nature’s Legacy; Coast Pacific Manufacturing Corp.; Basket and Weaves; and Designs Ligna. These manufacturers will delight IFFT buyers with exciting decorative and seasonal items pushing forward the sophisticated designs of Filipinos to the Japanese audience.

The Philippine collection at IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living takes pride in their unique techniques that will surely impress the Japanese audience.

The Philippine Pavilion at IFFT will use cool, natural and neutral accent colors as backdrop to help visually highlight the local furniture sector.

Taking part in IFFT is an opportunity to further strengthen the PH-Japan relations just in time for the 2020 Olympics – the most awaited sporting event in the world. It will provide an avenue for the Philippines to be promoted as a viable source of interior furniture and home accents especially to the Japanese market.

The participation of Lifestyle Philippines in the 2018 IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living was organized by CITEM in partnership with the Design Center of the Philippines (DCP) and the Chamber for Furniture Industries of the Philippines (CFIP).
