Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom Antonio M. Lagdameo warmly congratulated Filipino artists Abi Dionisio, The Alarcon Brothers, Andres Barrioquinto, and Jotyl Jan B. Bermudez on their participation through Singapore gallery One East Asia in the STARTnet Art Fair that opened on 21 October 2020 at the iconic Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, London.

STARTnet is a global gathering of artists and a showcase of local London and international galleries taking place from 21 to 25 October 2020. More than 100 artists and 34 galleries from 14 countries are participating in the seventh edition of the fair.

This is the first solo show in London of the acclaimed contemporary Filipino artist Abi Dionisio, known for her visual tableaux of intricate embroidery and lyrical representational painting, with “Noah In Us”, a group of five new works on canvas with five corresponding embroidery works commissioned by Singapore gallery One East Asia to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

As the START Art Fair draws collectors, enthusiasts, and critics from around the world to discover rising stars in contemporary arts, the Filipino artists’ participation brings a new public to the buoyant Philippine creative arts scene.
