National Quincentennial Committee launches Batang Bagani Kiddie Art Project Online

The National Quincentennial Committee (NQC) launches the Batang Bagani Kiddie Art Project Online. Children 7-12 years old are invited to take part in this online activity through sharing their artworks focusing on the theme Victory and Humanity in Me. This is in solidarity with the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan, the Philippine part in the first circumnavigation of the world, and other related events, collectively known as the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines (2021 QCP).

The project aims to exhibit artworks of Pinoy kids online and their perspective to Victory and Humanity, the theme 2021 QCP.  The Victory represents the triumph of our ancestors at the Battle of Mactan, while the Humanity highlights the kindness our ancestors displayed to the sick and hungry crew of the Magellan-Elcano expedition when they arrived at the shores of Homonhon.

The goal of the project is to gather up to 500 children’s artworks which will be featured on NQC’s Facebook page and website. The NQC also aims to have these artworks featured on special quincentennial publications, postcards, bookmarks, and other collaterals.

The mechanics for this online activity may be downloaded on https://nqc.gov.ph/en/batang-bagani-kiddie-art-project.

Batang Bagani is a collaboration of the NQC, National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and Department of Education.
