Sipalay City, Negros Occidental — June 2026 — At Manami Resort, a stay by the sea now creates a lasting impact beyond the shores of Sipalay. Through a meaningful partnership with G-Xchange, Inc. (GCash/GForest) and Silliman University under the SU–GXI Reforestation Project, Manami Resort will plant a mangrove seedling for every booking made—inviting every guest to become part of a larger movement to restore and protect Negros’ vital coastal ecosystems.
The initiative is part of the broader “Tech for Good: 1 Million Mangroves for a Resilient Negros” campaign, an environmental movement that harnesses technology, scientific research, and community-led conservation to rehabilitate mangrove forests, strengthen climate resilience, and safeguard marine biodiversity across the Negros Island Region.
What began as a mission to restore 500,000 mangroves in Negros Oriental has now expanded into Southern Negros Occidental, with another target of 500,000 mangroves across Hinoba-an, Sipalay City, and Cauayan. Manami Resort proudly joins local communities, scientists, government agencies, and environmental partners in this shared commitment to protecting the region’s natural heritage.
The collaboration was formalized during the GXI Reforestation in South Negros Occidental Project Annual Convention held on June 8, 2026, at the Nauhang Mangrove Eco-Park and Protected Area (NaMEPA) in Barangay Nauhang, Sipalay City. The event gathered over 100 participants, including representatives from the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Offices (MENRO) of Cauayan and Hinoba-an, the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Sipalay, local government units, partner People’s Organizations (POs), environmental advocates, and community leaders.
As part of this commitment, Manami Resort will establish a mangrove nursery within its property and support the rehabilitation of the Cayhagan mangrove planting site. More importantly, the resort’s commitment extends beyond planting—focusing on the long-term nurturing, monitoring, and survival of every mangrove under its stewardship.

As of May 2026, the Southern Negros Occidental phase of the initiative has recorded 288,273 surviving mangrove seedlings with an 82.75% survival rate—reflecting the dedication of local People’s Organizations, scientists, government agencies, and environmental partners working together toward a more climate-resilient future.
