CEBU CITY —Senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) can enjoy their shopping privileges in all Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC) stores within 365 days from the date of arrival in the country, announced DFPC Chief Operating Officer Vicente Pelagio A. Angala.

According to Angala, the privilege is extended to the senior citizens and PWDs with Philippine passports or natural born Filipinos who acquired foreign citizenship.

Meanwhile, Regular Filipino Travelers (RFT) and Foreign Individual Travelers (FIT) can shop within 48 hours upon their arrival in the country.

In Central Visayas, there are three DFP stores – one in Lahug, Cebu City and two at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

The one-year shopping privilege also comes with a five percent discount in all regular items (except for liquors and cigarettes) and ten percent for Premier Card holders with no minimum purchase requirements.

In order for senior citizens and PWDs to avail of the discount, they need to show their passports and PWD IDs at the registration counters of DFPC outlets.

When purchasing goods and services that are already on promotional discounts, PWDs can avail of either the offered discount or the five percent discount, whichever is more favorable.

Beneficiaries are also reminded that if the consumer is both a PWD and a Senior Citizen, he may only avail of the five percent additional discount from only one category.

DFPC is also set to open a new Duty Free Philippines store at the Bohol-Panglao International Airport this year, Angala said.
