A Delightful Wellness, Cultural, and Farm Destination

On its 15th year of operation and as part of its advocacy of promoting health and Filipino culture, Nurture Wellness Village recently launched Nurture Farmacy, a DOT accredited farm tourism destination located 500 meters from the spa resort in Amadeo Cavite.

Nurture Farmacy is an eco-tourism well-ness, heritage and farm destination which offers a wide variety of activities for guests to choose from. Foreign guests, students, corporate groups and families will enjoy “Phytotherapy: Plants that Heal” where Nurture “Farmacists” in traditional Filipino costumes guide guests into vegetable plots shaped like the various systems of the body and explain the medicinal benefts of the plants. The farm will soon be conducting healthy cooking classes on how to prepare delicious dishes to prevent and heal sicknesses of the heart, kidney, lungs, diabetes, cancer based on Dr. Greger’s book “How Not To Die”.

Balik Tanaw is a living heritage museum. Guests are welcomed by Maria Clara, the farm’s carabao. Balai Tinggian overlooks the farm and showcases the beautiful weaving culture of the Tinggian tribe from Abra whose intricately woven fabrics and embroidery made from natural dyes are truly works of art. Gabriela Silang, the Filipina Joan of Arc, after whom the restaurant in Nurture Wellness Village was named, was a Tinggian lass and the owners’ ancestor. Traditional Filipino architecture is highlighted in the walls of the nipa hut made of “Sasag” or crushed bamboo. Ang Kusina showcases tradi- tional kitchen implements and handmade earthen pottery.

Paggawa ng Pataba shows how to make pesticides and fertilizers the traditional way; ang Pandayan is a demonstration on how to make hand made knives and bolos. Guests can try their hand in interactive heritage activities like Pagbabayo, Pagtatahip, Paggawa ng Sipa at Saranggola and many more.

As an organic farm, Nurture Farmacy uses vermiculture, composting and home made organic pesticides and fertilizers. Sustainability and environmental protection are practiced in its rainwater harvesting system, grey water recycling in the camp kitchen and natural filtration system for the kiddie pool.

Camp Nurture is the perfect venue for corporate events, overnight teambuilding, family reunions, unique weddings and more. The intimate campsite features an adults plunge pool, a kiddie pool, an events pavilion, delicious food freshly prepared by the Camp’s Chef, running hot and cold water, comfortable tents and secure surroundings with a Camp Butler ensuring that guests’ every need is attended to.

A wide variety of packages are available from 4 hour eld trips to overnight camping stays. Please call 0906-224-4731 or email Ms. Ivy Padua at ivy@nurture.com.ph or visit www.nurturefarmacy.com or www.nurturewellnessvillage.com for more information.
