Following the success of the Belt and Road Summit 2020, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center Hong Kong (PTIC-HK), together with Philippine Consulate General Hong Kong (PCGHK) and the Board of Investments (BOI), will once again join the 6th Belt and Road Summit (BRS) in Hong Kong from 1-2 September 2021 to deepen collaboration between the Philippines and countries along the Belt and Road.
Billed as the premier international platform for promoting business collaboration along the Belt and Road, the Summit gathers senior officials from the government and private sector to discuss and seize opportunities for multilateral cooperation.
The Secretary of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Republic of the Philippines Hon. Ramon Lopez, together with the Ministers of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, will be speaking in a panel discussion session on 1 September 2021 entitled “Policy Dialogue: Promoting Multilateral Cooperation along the Belt and Road.
In addition, the Philippines will also participate in the virtual exhibition from 1 to 3 September to showcase 18 different projects and investment opportunities of the Investment Promotions Agencies in the Philippines (IPAs) for foreign investors. The participating IPAs are Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, Cagayan Economic Zone Authority, Clark Development Corporation and the BOI. The business matching session between foreign investors and the different IPAs will take place virtually.
The Philippines welcomes and encourages all foreign investors to join the 6th BRS as a platform to gain a better understanding of the projects and attractive investment opportunities offered by the Philippines.
