Philippine Embassy in Wellington highlights the Philippines as an outstanding market for business in New Zealand

Wellington, New Zealand — The Philippine Embassy in Wellington, in cooperation with the Sydney-based Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC), conducted on September 24, 2019 “Focus on the Philippines” to highlight the potential economic gains of New Zealand’s economic collaboration with the Philippines.

Members of the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), ExportNZ, the Wellington Employers Chamber of Commerce (WECC), the ASEAN New Zealand Business Council, the members of the diplomatic corps and business community participated in the event.

Ambassador to New Zealand Jesus S. Domingo gave a comprehensive overview of the Philippines and New Zealand trade relations, as well as developments in the Philippine business environment.

Other notable speakers included first-ever Filipino Member of Parliament Atty. Paulo Garcia, Tactics Managing Director Agnes Espineda, Asia NZ Foundation to the Philippines delegate Katy Pfeifer, and Philippines-based Beca Business Director Scott Logie.

Through the “Focus on the Philippines” event, Kiwis will have a deeper understanding of the cultural aspects of engaging with Philippine businesses as well as gaining a considerable foothold in Asia’s demographic sweet spot.
