As part of the consular outreach mission to Palm Springs, California held on 25-26 September 2021, Consul General Edgar B. Badajos visited seven Filipino-American owned businesses located in Coachella Valley.

He visited Coachella Valley Pharmacy, Apong’s Philly Cheesesteak & KrispyKruncy Chicken Restaurant, Jun-Tek Automotive Inc., Regency Insurance & Financial Group, AJ Filipino Market, Aloha Home Care, and AM/PM Assured Care.

Consul General Badajos lauded the Fil-Am business owners for finding their niche in the U.S. business industry, proving that Filipinos could break from the usual track of going abroad to become employees of others, into becoming entrepreneurs on their own. He challenged them to further expand their operations in the Valley.

During the visits, it was learned that Coachella Valley Pharmacy is the first and only Fil-Am owned pharmacy in the region. The Consul General was also informed that 80% of homecare facilities in the Valley are run by Filipinos and Filipino-Americans, having established a good reputation for providing safe and compassionate care to their elderly residents.
