loilo City Pursues Friendship, Cooperation with Xiamen City

Xiamen — Iloilo City’s Economic Team, led by its Local Economic and Investment Promotion Office (LEIPO) head Ritchel Gavan, visited Xiamen recently to meet with local officials and visited business and trade related offices and organizations to promote Iloilo City as part of its development thrusts on May 8, 2019.

The team met China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Branch of Xiamen City Vice Chairman Yan Zhiping, where sides expressed keen interest towards future economic cooperation and exchanges.

They also visited the Xiamen Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and were able to meet Economic Development Bureau, Xiamen FTZ representative Alex Zheng. They were briefed on FTZ’s major work and observed the One-Stop-Shop and other facilities at the Zone.

Philippine-Xiamen Business Chamber and Amity Club Representative Dustin Sebastian also discussed to them possible cooperation and exchanges with Iloilo City.

The team, coming from both public and private sectors, included City Planning Office Department head assistant Dolly Anne Zoluaga, and Iloilo Business Club executive director Ma. Lea Victoria Lara.

The Consulate General in Xiamen facilitated the visit which hopes to pursue concrete cooperation and exchanges with Iloilo City to strengthen relations with Fujian province.
