Two of the Philippines’ best selling coconut products, Coco Mama and Coco Angel, were officially launched in Russia at the 23rd All-Russian Hospitality Summit (23rd PIR Expo) held in Crocus-Expo Pavilion 3, Moscow, on 19-22 October 2020. ResFood, through an exclusive partnership with the Century Pacific Agricultural Ventures Inc., launched the two Philippine coconut products in Russia at their exhibition booth while famous chefs showcased the products throughout the duration of the expo.
Philippine Embassy in Moscow representatives visited the ResFood exhibit and held a meeting with ResFood exhibit Category Manager Natalia Lizunova. Ms. Lizunova commented on the superior quality and taste of Philippine coconut cream and coconut milk and hoped that more Philippine products will be available to Russian consumers soon. While ResFood mainly sells Coco Mama and Coco Angel products to its wholesale partners, Ms. Lizunova shared that the company is in talks with a few major Russian retailers in order to expand the availability of the products to a wider range of consumers.
Ms. Lizunova thanked the Embassy for its assistance in facilitating the realization of the partnership between ResFood and the Century Pacific Agricultural Ventures Inc (CPAVI), referring to the visit of ResFood’s Category Manager Tatiana Stepanova to the Embassy Chancery on 28 February 2020. During the visit, Ms. Stepanova shared some updates on the negotiations regarding the partnership agreement between ResFood and CPAVI. Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta discussed the concerns raised by ResFood with senior officials of Century Pacific Food Inc., the parent company of CPAVI, leading to a mutually satisfactory partnership agreement. Ms. Lizunova also expressed gratitude to the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Moscow for all its assistance in organizing the visit of Ms. Stepanova to several Philippine companies last December 2019.
Upon hearing of Ms. Lizunova’s interest to discover and explore new and exciting Asian food products, Embassy representatives invited Ms. Lizunova and other ResFood representatives to the Embassy Chancery where it will organize a sampling of an array of food products and food ingredients made by top Philippine companies. Both sides will set this visit soon at a mutually agreeable date. Ms. Lizunova also asked for the Embassy’s support in promoting the two coconut products to their contacts and to the Filipino community in Russia.
“The Philippine Embassy is proud to see that two of our best coconut products have finally made it to Russia. We are glad to hear such positive reviews from potential Russian clients, and we hope to promote more exciting and healthy Philippine products to Russia and the CIS region—a sizable and untapped market for Philippine stakeholders. We admire the determination and drive of our private sector to push forward into this new market, and we will continue to support them,” said Ambassador Sorreta.
