The Philippines’ best-selling Goldilocks polvoron is now available in select Indonesian supermarkets. This was announced by the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) trade post in Jakarta.

DTI commercial attache Jeremiah C. Reyes said that the much-anticipated entry of the product in Indonesia is part of the department’s mandate to promote homegrown brands in the international stage. Reyes added that DTI has been promoting Philippine brands through its major events such as trade fairs.

The iconic polvoron’s popularity in Indonesia grew by word of mouth when their nationals started bringing back home these delicacies from their trips to the Philippines. Back then, before its formal launch in September, Indonesians could only purchase the product online or through their friends.

Called “kukis” in Indonesia and classified as shortbread, Goldilocks polvoron, in classic and ube flavor variants, is exclusively distributed by PT Prambanan Kencana. Initially, the products are available in Jakarta, Surabaya and Makassar and at Farmers Market in L’Avenue and Mall Artha Gading (Diamond).

DTI-Jakarta is currently in negotiations with the distributor to carry other Filipino brands in the market.
