Rizal Province — President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivers his promise to start giving away face masks to indigent families.
Led by Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, the Office of the President, the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Health (DOH) Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) joined the Ceremonial Launch and Community Distribution of Face Masks to beneficiaries from Rizal Province.
The launch was joined by Rizal Governor Rebecca Ynares and the mayors of cities and municipalities in Rizal. The event was in keeping with the desire of the President to help ensure that the indigents will also have the necessary health protection against COVID-19 and in an effort to keep low the rate of transmission.
Twenty (20) million non-medical grade reusable and washable face masks that follow the specifications set by the World Health Organization (WHO) were provided to vulnerable sectors that include households with senior citizens, pregnant women, special health conditions, and those part of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
