DUBAI 22 October 2018 – As part of highlighting and promoting the rich and vibrant Philippine art and the skills of Filipino young artists, the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai opened an art exhibit showcasing the works of five overseas based Filipino young artists.
Philippine Consul General to Dubai Paul Raymund Cortes and his spouse, Dr. Yasmin Balajadia-Cortes, opened the art exhibit entitled “The Color Palette of the New Age Artists,” at the Rizal Hall of the Philippine Consulate on 28 September 2018.
The three-month exhibit is part of the Consulate’s program to highlight and promote the unique brand of Philippine Art. Some 300 guests packed the Consulate’s premises where over 30 works of art by 14 year old Cyrill Kiersten Cecillano, 15 year olds Kairi Eamilao Cabais and Krestia Louie Garcia, nine year old Julia Ramone Lopez Torre and 10 year old Raphael Jaydrek Esgra Dilla were exhibited.
Part of the Consulate General’s cultural diplomacy strategy include holding exhibits of the works of overseas Filipinos, providing the community an avenue to showcase their art.
Consul General Cortes envisions to make the Consulate a repository of the collective expression of the soul of the overseas Filipino.
