Filipinos in Germany gear up for Premyo Bonds 2 launch

Philippine Ambassador to Germany Ma. Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega encourages our kababayans to avail of the Premyo Bonds 2 offering ‘para sa Bayan’ and for their loved ones.

A week before the launch of the Premyo Bonds 2 offering by the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) on 11 November 2020, the Philippine Embassy in Berlin, the Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt and the BTr teamed up for a free webinar for Filipinos in Germany to learn more about the investment opportunity ON 04 November 2020.

National Treasurer Rosalia V. De Leon explained that Premyo Bonds offer Overseas Filipinos and other individual and retail investors a chance to invest in low-risk government securities, while at the same time contributing to the national effort to rebuild amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Premyo Bonds have a one-year maturity and yield fixed quarterly interest payments, and could be availed of for a minimum investment of only PhP500. Furthermore, those who invest automatically qualify for a quarterly raffle draw wherein attractive cash and non-cash prizes are to be given away.

The webinar outlined the procedure for investing in the bonds, which will be offered between 11 November and 11 December 2020.

The webinar highlights the advantages of the Premyo Bonds vis-à-vis other investment instruments, especially its relatively low risk.

Ms. Leila Martin, the president of the Overseas Filipino Bank, was likewise present in the session and encouraged Filipinos in Germany to open an account with OF Bank and to use its mobile app to purchase Premyo Bonds 2.

Those who missed the live broadcast may still view the video recording on the Philippine Embassy’s Facebook page.
