SYDNEY 01 October 2018 – The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney conducted a consular outreach mission at the Musicians Club Auditorium in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia on 22 September 2018.
Broken Hill is Australia’s longest running mining town, which is 1,200 kilometers from Sydney.
The consular team was headed by Consul Melanie Diano with Reggie Queenie Perol, Russell Villegas, and Veronida Morales as members.
The Consulate General’s team processed applications for passport renewal, applications for dual citizenship, notarials, report of marriage and report of birth. Twenty new overseas voters were also registered.
During the consular mission, Consul Diano administered the oath of allegiance of candidates for dual citizenship and conducted an information session regarding the benefits and advantages of being a dual citizen under RA 9225.
“Thank you for your visit and for providing services to the Filipino Community here. The Filipino Community appreciate it. You have saved them not only from stress, but from financial and travel burden as well. Please, do come again.” said Rowell Baxter, a member of the Filipino Community.
The consular outreach program was made possible with the help of the Filipino Community led by Rowell Baxter, Jan Earthen Lim, Joegelia Ho, Glenda Baxter and Bernadette Haring.
