Abu Dhabi — Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hjayceelyn M. Quintana was accorded the prestigious Emirates Woman “Woman of the Year Award 2019” (visionary category) at ceremonies held on 18 November 2019 at Address Montgomerie in Dubai.
Various Filipino community groups were jubilant sending congratulatory messages to Ambassaor Quintana.
The Filipino Times hailed Ambassador Quintana’s achievement as a tribute to all of the Filipino women working in the UAE whose work, spanning many professional and skilled fields, continue to have a positive, lasting impact on UAE’s changing landscape.
“It is a huge honor to accept the award as it reflects the innovative drive and unyielding passion that Filipino women, working together with more than 200 nationalities here in the UAE, have a voice to lead and a vision to push boundaries towards a progressive society,” Ambassador Quintana said.
Philippine Business Council-Abu Dhabi (PBC-Abu Dhabi) President Deborah Aragon Dayrit congratulated Ambassador Quintana stating that “PBC has witnessed Ambassador Quintana as a true leader with a heart, focused on performing her mission, strongly driven by her visions, and works sincerely to see her passion conveyed to challenge the Filipinos in the UAE to excellence.”
The awarding ceremony honored 25 of UAE’s and the region’s most inspiring and successful women with the top five winning in five categories. Ambassador Quintana bested four other contenders in the visionary category.
Speaking to the media after receiving the award, Ambassador Quintana said that “It’s really amazing how the UAE has favored a lot of women who are making a difference. It is such an honor to be in such a place where there is so much diversity. The UAE itself impacts the vision, the way you do your work. As Ambassador of the Philippines, I am really very honored for this opportunity to reach out and to be able to flesh out my vision for the community.”
