Hong Kong — The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, led by Consul General Antonio A. Morales, gave the Philppines’ first participation to the Hong Kong RISE Conference a boost on July 8, 2019 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
The Department of Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), brought to the RISE Conference around 28 Philippine startups whose services range from e-commerce and retail, financial technology (FinTech), travel and hospitality to cleaning and sanitation.
DTI-EMB Assistant Director Agnes Perpetua R. Legaspi and Assistant Division Chief Angie M. Brosas and DOST Senior Science Research Specialist Edward Paul H. Apigo led the Philippine delegation.
Another 22 Philippine startups participated in the Conference, bringing the Philippines’ participation to a total of 50.
On its fifth year in Hong Kong, RISE Conference is the largest tech conference in Asia, drawing over 15,000 attendees from 114 countries and more than 385 speakers and 777 startups. This year’s conference was also attended by media, investors, and entrepreneurs.
