HOUSTON 16 October 2018 – The Philippines as a premiere investment destination was highlighted at the the 2018 Houston Global Trade Conference & Expo, where Philippine Consul General in Houston Jerril G. Santos gave a presentation during the Conference’s Asia Forum, showing the country’s readiness to receive investments.

The Philippine Consulate General in Houston participated in the event organized by the Houston International Trade and Development Council at the Royal Sonesta Hotel on 25 September 2018.

The conference brought together energy, manufacturing, agriculture, information technology, construction companies, and other business entrepreneurs to meet Houston-based companies and international chambers of commerce to discuss business collaborations. Also in attendance were government officials from the City of Houston and the Port of Houston.

Announcing the Consulate General’s opening on 24 September 2018, Consul General Santos said that “our prolonged absence has led to some lost opportunities for the development of our economic and commercial relations. It is on this note that I would like to start our business here in Houston.”

The Philippines also promoted Filipino products during the conference through a booth that featured Filipino Community-based products, including the award-winning Malagos Chocolates which received several product inquiries from the conference attendees.
