Guest of Honor Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cultural Diplomacy Director Diana Kiambuthi said that the event, which keeps growing year in and year out, is a significant undertaking and really strengthens the relationship between Kenya and ASEAN as a group and the four participating countries specifically.

Ambassadors and High Commissioners from Pakistan, Russia, Spain, Australia, Ethiopia and Serbia also attended the event and praised the organizers of the event, along with other members of the dlplomatic corps.

The Embassy showcased traditional Filipino items such as hand-painted bags, hats, fans and pearl accessories. Filipino food such as adobo, pancit, beef pares, salted egg potato chips, and pakbet sold out very quickly, along with buko pandan and durian flavored ice cream.

In another spectacular cultural performance consistent with years’ past, members of the Filipino Community and the Embassy beautifully performed La Jota Manileña choreographed by acclaimed Filipino Dance Instructor Arnie Umayam of the Academy of Dance and Art. Students from the said Academy also showcased ballet performances set to OPM songs.
