Overflowing gratitude for Kapuso abroad in ‘Awit Pasasalamat’

Andrea Torres warmly welcomes the Kapuso abroad back home

Hundreds of Kapuso abroad who came home for the holidays gathered in one special night as Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista and Kapuso actress Andrea Torres successfully headlined “Awit Pasasalamat: A Tribute to Overseas Filipinos.”

The show held last December 15 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater served as GMA Pinoy TV’s warm welcome to balikbayans and at the same time a send-off to Filipino workers who are flying out of the country.

Christian Bautista charms the crowd

Christian filled the stage with kilig as he serenaded the crowd with his swoon-worthy songs. Some of the lucky audience members felt like they were the most beautiful woman in the room as the balladeer approached them and held hands during his performance.

“This concert is our simple way of expressing gratitude and appreciation to our Kapuso abroad for their sacrifices of working away from home. I hope we were able to make you feel extra special this Christmas season,” said Christian.

Andrea, on the other hand, gave a fiery performance with her song and dance numbers. “Maraming salamat po at sinamahan ninyo kami ngayon dito sa Awit Pasasalamat. Sana po nag-enjoy kayo sa mga hinanda namin dahil para sa inyo po itong lahat. At sana kahit sa paglipad ninyo ulit, bitbit pa rin ninyo ang masasayang experience natin dito sa ‘Pinas,” Andrea said.

Further showcasing Pinoy talent were guest performers Joey Ayala, Rose Fostanes, Tanya Dawood and even fellow overseas Filipinos.

Through the exclusive media sponsorship of GMA Network’s flagship international channel GMA Pinoy TV, ‘Awit Pasasalamat’ was organized by the Advocates and Keepers Organization of OFWs (AKO-OFW).
