The Philippines Future Skills Summit 2023: Building a future-ready workforce

Makati City — The Philippines Future Skills Summit 2023 is a highly anticipated event that will bring together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss the future of work and the skills that will be required to succeed in the years to come. The summit is set to take place on February 7, 2023, at the Makati Diamond Residences, Makati City.

The theme of the summit, “Building a Future-Ready Workforce,” underscores the importance of preparing the workforce for the challenges of tomorrow. With rapid advancements in technology and the changing nature of work, it is critical for individuals and organizations to have the skills necessary to remain competitive in the global marketplace.

The Summit aims to facilitate discussions on tackling the digital gap by considering how the government, education providers and private organizations can work in partnership to boost digital skills and tackle isolation in the modern digital society. Through a series of keynote speeches and interactive sessions, the forum will be an opportunity to explore how to achieve a fully digitally inclusive future through providing digital skills and access for all.

The program will be inaugurated by Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual, who will provide insights into the future of work and the skills that will be required for success in the 21st century. In addition to the inaugural address, the summit will feature a series of panel discussions, where attendees will have the opportunity to share their perspectives, exchange ideas, and build their professional networks.

The Philippines Future Skills Summit 2023 is also an opportunity to learn about the Philippine Skills Framework (PSF), a comprehensive guide to the skills needed in various industries and sectors in the Philippines. The PSF provides a common language and understanding of the skills required for different jobs, making it easier for individuals and organizations to identify and build the skills needed to succeed.

The PSF is a valuable tool for individuals looking to build their careers and for organizations looking to build the skills of their workforce. By aligning the skills of the workforce with the demands of the job market, the PSF can help ensure that the Philippines remains competitive in the global marketplace and that its workforce is prepared for the future.

The Philippines Future Skills Summit 2023 is co-organized by Confexhub, eduClaaS, and the Philippine Trade Training Center – Global MSME Academy. It is hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry, with the support from Commission on Higher Education, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of Tourism, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
