51.54% Increase in Tourist Arrivals from Jordan

Amman — Under the current leadership of Ambassador Akmad Atlah Sakkam, the Philippine Embassy in Amman, applauds the remarkable performance of the Philippine tourism sector after Jordan posted one of the highest increases in tourist arrivals in the Philippines based on the official comparative figures released by the Department of Tourism for 2017 and 2018.

Tourist arrivals from Jordan registered an impressive 51.54 percent increase of tourist arrivals from 745 to 1,129 tourists, a stark contrast from the performances of all other major countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region (UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt and Bahrain).

The Embassy remains at the forefront in the sustained promotion of the Philippines as the next rising destination in Southeast Asia for the Jordanian tourism market, and aspires for the further development of the Halal tourism segment of the current international campaign.
