PH Embassy in Brussels Ends Overseas Voters’ Registration Drive

BRUSSELS 10 October 2018 – In a final push to maximize the number of Filipino overseas voters who can exercise their right to suffrage in 2019 midterm elections, the Philippine Embassy in Brussels set up an overseas voters’ registration booth in back-to-back Filipino Community events to comply with the 30 September 2018 deadline set by the Commission on Elections.

At the sidelines of the 22nd anniversary of the Filipino Chaplaincy in Brussels, which was held at the Mary, Mother of God Church in Vorst, 14 Filipino overseas voters registered.

Afterwards, at the Philippine Food Festival at the Pavilion de Roodebeck, 13 Filipino nationals ensured that they will be able to vote next year.

The 27 new registrants pushed the total number of new overseas voters to 503 for this registration cycle.

Ambassador to Belgium Eduardo José A. de Vega said after the registration that, like all Foreign Service Posts, the Embassy is committed to the continued success of the Overseas Voting process.
