A total of ten (10) destinations were selected to take center stage by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) at the Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX) 2018, the country’s largest government-organized travel and trade event.
Working on the theme, “Tourism is our Business; Guarding Our Environment, Reliving Our Culture,” the TPB crafted various modules for the buyers’ pre and post event tours that will highlight culture and heritage, sustainable tourism, farm tourism and wellness, among others. Pre-event destinations include Laguna, Bataan, Batangas and Tagaytay, and will be conducted on 28 August 2018.
PHITEX 2018 runs from the 28-30 August at the Marriott Hotel Manila. Following intense business-to-business (B2B) sessions that will bring over 200 international buyers in the Philippines to meet with local sellers from all over the country, the TPB is set to impress the international participants further with the post-event tours, which covers eight (8) destinations featuring Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Buyers will be taken on a 4-nights/5-days pre-assigned trip to experience a slew of activities in Bicol, Davao, Palawan (Puerto Princesa-El Nido and Coron), Dumaguete-Siquijor-Sumilon and Ilocos Norte from 31 August to 04 September 2018. These tours are targeted to let buyers experience why it’s more fun in the Philippines, and encourage them to include the various travel destinations in the country in their travel and tour packages being sold at their respective market coverage.
The TPB is the marketing and implementing arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT), and is mandated to domestically and internationally promote the Philippines as a world-class tourism destination.
