Montemaria
Montemaria, proudly described as the Mother of All Asia, is home to the world’s largest statue of Virgin Mary. The 96 meters high (315 feet) construction is currently being built at the heart of the massive development situated in Montemaria, Batangas. The late, internationally renowned Philippine Artist Eduardo “Ed” Castrillo, sculpted the bronze hands and face of the statue.

Nestling on top of a 25-meter tall podium, the Marian shrine’s construction is expected to be complete by December this year. The Memorial Complex is being developed and operated by the Montemaria Asia Pilgrims, INC. (MAPI), a non-profit organization.

The eight-hectare sanctuary will offer chapel, retreat facilities, meditation gardens, seminar and conference rooms, scala sancta, view decks, and Way of the Cross. It will also house an exhibition hall and gallery of all images of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Meanwhile, the surrounding area of Montemaria will include residential and retirement villages, hotels, condotels, and other recreational facilities that will offer various activities such as scuba diving and sailing.

“The monument, dedicated to unity and peace for all countries in the world, is expected to attract millions of tourists not only from the Philippines, but also from the international community.”
