The Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) proudly joins the global franchising community in celebrating the inaugural World Franchise Day on June 11, 2025, a newly declared annual observance established by the World Franchise Council (WFC) to recognize the transformative impact of franchising in driving economic growth and job creation across communities worldwide.
World Franchise Day, which will be celebrated every second Wednesday of June starting this year, aims to recognize the strength of the franchise business model and its unique ability to drive business scalability, empowering entrepreneurs while offering the support and structure of established brands.
Beyond empowering entrepreneurs, franchising also provides franchisors with a smart and cost-effective path to growth. By partnering with the right franchisees, franchisors can grow their brand footprint across diverse markets while establishing consistent quality and customer experience. This model enables business expansion with minimal capital investments and shared risk, enabling sustainable growth and a stronger market presence.
To mark this momentous occasion, the PFA will host ‘Franchise B2B and Seminars’ at Robinsons Place Antipolo on June 11, in partnership with Robinsons Malls. This regional event comes on the heels of the successful Franchise Asia Philippines 2025 held in April and underscores PFA’s ongoing mission to bring franchise opportunities closer to aspiring entrepreneurs across the country.
“This global celebration is an opportunity to spotlight the dynamism of the Philippine franchising sector and the entrepreneurial spirit of our franchisees,” said PFA President Joseph Tanbuntiong. “Franchising continues to uplift lives by making business ownership more accessible and sustainable, especially for those outside major urban centers.”
The Antipolo event will feature some of the country’s most trusted franchise brands and offer free seminars to guide prospective franchisees in making informed investment decisions. These activities are designed to help expand access to business opportunities in the regions and support inclusive economic growth.
“What sets franchising apart is its powerful model,” added PFA Chairman Chris Lim, “which allows individuals to be in business for themselves, but not by themselves. With built-in systems for mentorship, training, and operational support, franchising opens doors for ordinary Filipinos to succeed in business. It is fortuitous then,” he remarked, “that World Franchise Day falls on the week that we celebrate Independence Day because franchising is a key to freedom from poverty.”
World Franchise Day is being celebrated simultaneously by WFC member associations around the globe. Citizens, government officials, and consumers are encouraged to participate by visiting local franchise businesses, engaging with social media content using the #WorldFranchiseDay hashtag, and learning more about how franchising supports their communities.
“World Franchise Day is a platform for us to share the stories of Filipino franchisees and celebrate their impact,” Tanbuntiong emphasized. “We look forward to building on this initiative with more programs that will open doors for more Filipinos and help propel the Philippines toward becoming a billion-dollar economy.”
