St. Luke’s Medical Center’s (SLMC) vaccination hub opened its doors to the public on Thursday, June 24, as part of the health facility’s efforts to support the National Vaccination Program.

NTF Chief Implementer and Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, NTF Deputy chief implementer and testing czar Secretary Vince Dizon, St. Luke’s Medical Center President and CEO Dr. Arturo De La Peña, for Construction Division EEI Corporation Executive Vice President Normal Macapagal led the inauguration and ribbon cutting ceremony.

In his remarks, Galvez emphasized the importance of the newly-opened vaccination hub, as the country starts receiving larger shipments of anti-COVID vaccines and expands the coverage of the vaccination program.

“Through this vaccination hub, we would be able to give our countrymen an extra layer of protection against the disease and save more lives,” he said.

“With the steady arrival of bigger volumes of anti-COVID vaccines, we are now accelerating and expanding the coverage of our vaccination program,” Galvez added.

For his part, Secretary Duque said the SLMC will be instrumental in helping the government realize its goal of achieving herd immunity.

“Herd immunity po ang ating pinupuntirya at wala po akong kaduda-duda na ang katulad ng St. Luke’s Medical Center na talagang very consistent in showing their very strong support to the national government’s national vaccination program,” Duque said.

De La Peña thanked the national government and the city government of Taguig for helping to establish the vaccination hub.

A number of SLMC employees as well as residents of Taguig city received their first dose of anti-COVID vaccines today.
