More employees can go back to their jobs under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) said Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez on Wednesday, May 13.
“So, total around 75 to 78 percent [are] allowed to work under MECQ,” said Lopez.
President Rodrigo Duterte announced the new quarantine status of regions, provinces, and cities which begins on May 16.
Metro Manila, Laguna, and Cebu City are listed under the MECQ policy.

The protocol includes Covid-19 testing of workers, but can be limited to those with illness or symptoms and will be paid for by the company. Further, observing physical distancing, regular disinfection, and providing personal protective equipment, among other materials, are also included in the minimum health standards for a company to be permitted to resume its operations.
