Shoo mosquitoes! Yes, your babies will now be spared from mosquito bites with the innovative technology of mosquito-repellant baby clothes developed by the Philippine Textile Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology. This is one of the development initiatives of the textile institute under the Smart Textiles program to address the need to provide products that will directly benefit the people. The technology is showcased in the Science, Technology and Innovation @ Home cluster at the National Science and Technology Week held on July 17-21, 2018 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Other textile-related technologies shown during the exhibits were the use of natural dyes, tropic fabrics, and the therapeutic hand loom for physically challenged individuals and senior citizens.
