In the 07 June 2021 meeting between Philippine Ambassador to the State of Israel Macairog S. Alberto and Trade Commissioner Ohad Cohen, Director of the Foreign Trade Administration of Israel, both parties committed to boost economic cooperation between the two countries.
“The opening of Israel’s trade office in the Philippines in 2019 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic is a clear indication that Israel sees the country as a potential major bilateral partner. Israel has initiated several areas of cooperation and looks forward to their conclusion to facilitate better trade conditions between our two countries. Israeli companies are looking forward to resuming their businesses in the Philippines, and the availability of direct flights two to three times a week would surely encourage more businessmen to explore opportunities in the Philippines,” said Trade Commissioner Cohen.
In response, Ambassador Alberto said “the Philippines welcomes the initiatives of Israel to bring our economic relations to the next level. Together, we will work together to accelerate the recovery of our economies from the pandemic.”
Trade Commissioner invited Ambassador Alberto the honor to mark the Philippine trade office of Israel in the world map located at the office of the Ministry of Economy and Industry to include it among the 50 offices of the foreign trade administration around the world.
