Philippines Ambassador to the Netherlands meets Filipino community leaders

The Hague — The Philippine Embassy in The Hague conducted the second semi-annual meeting with the Filipino Community leaders representing 21 associations and organizations from various regional, cultural, advocacy, professional and religious groups from the 12 provinces of the Netherlands on 25 October 2019.

Ambassador to the Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda briefed the attendees on the activities of the Embassy’s for 2019, the creation of “OFW HELP” Facebook Page, the launch of the 2020 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organization Overseas, and the advisories on consular services, among others.  Ambassador Ledda also encouraged the FilCom to announce their own events in 2020 for the information of other Filipino Community members.

The Ambassador also took the opportunity to thank the leaders for their assistance and support extended to the Embassy in its continuing thrust to promote Cultural Diplomacy in The Netherlands and for their efforts in generating goodwill with the Dutch people.  The Ambassador also commended the leaders for exhibiting the spirit of bayanihan
(camaraderie) in coming up with various community activities to raise funds to help communities in need in the Philippines.
